Privacy Policy

DepositMark is operated by DepositMark LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you authorize a payment through a DepositMark page, or use DepositMark as a business, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Payment authorization details: the name on your bank account, the account type, your bank routing number and account number, the amount, and the business you are paying.
- The record of your authorization: the exact text you accepted, the date and time, your IP address and your browser type.
- Account verification results: if you verify your account, we receive confirmation that the account exists, the name on it, and whether it can cover the payment. We do not receive or store your online banking username or password, and we do not collect your transaction history.
- Business applications: for businesses applying to use DepositMark, the business name, address and EIN, the owner's name, date of birth, home address and contact details, a description of the business, and the documents uploaded with the application, including formation papers and a photo ID. We use these to verify the business and its owner, and we may check them against government records and third-party verification services.
- Owner identity check: an applying owner provides a photo of their ID and a live selfie. An identity verification provider examines the ID, confirms the selfie is of a live person, and compares the selfie with the ID photo, which involves analysing facial features. The provider is instructed not to keep the images after the check. We keep our own encrypted copies with the application, for as long as the account is open and for the period the law requires afterwards, and use them only to verify identity and prevent fraud.
- Business account details: for businesses using DepositMark, contact details and API usage.
How we use it
- To prepare the payment you authorized for the business you are paying.
- To verify that the bank account is valid and belongs to you, and to prevent fraud.
- To keep a record of the authorization in case the payment is later questioned.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- The business you are paying, which receives the payment and the record of your authorization.
- Account verification providers, which confirm your bank account details on our behalf.
- Service providers that host our systems, under confidentiality obligations.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
How we protect it
Bank account numbers, EINs and uploaded application documents are encrypted when stored. Bank account numbers are deleted from our systems once the payment has cleared, been returned or been cancelled. After that we keep only the last four digits with the authorization record. Connections to DepositMark are encrypted.
How long we keep it
Authorization records are kept for as long as needed to support the business in a payment dispute and to meet legal requirements.
Your choices
You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where the law allows. To revoke a payment authorization, contact the business named in it before the payment is deposited. California residents have additional rights under California law, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information.
